A SIMPLE PRACTICE
May 12, 2005
Dear friend, I hope this finds you well. There are many exciting things happening at the moment, all of which is posted on the News Updates page on my site. If you want to check it out, go http://www.russillpaul.com/newsupdates.html We’ve updated our products page on our website and added some really useful information about our company, Guha Productions, which will give you a better sense of what we are trying to do in the world through our events and our music. In this news update: • Special offer for Yoga of Sound Seminar at Wisdom University next month • Summer Sale at less than wholesale and distributor prices • Russill's book, "The Yoga of Sound" nominated for the Nautilus Award. • Read the report on our recent pilgrimage "In the Aftermath of the Tsunami." • Russill presents "Christ in India" weekend in St. Paul, May 13 and 14 • In closing: a simple, mantra practice, to use when you have just a few moments. First of all, the Doctor in Ministry program I work at the University of Creation Spirituality, now Wisdom University, has offered a 50% discount on tuition for a Yoga of Sound seminar. If you really want to get the highest quality learning experience with me, take this seminar. It’s well worth it because I am also offering the first 10 registrants a closed session with me. Please act fast if you are interested because we’ve done a large printed mailing that tells folks about this offer. Secondly, we are offering some great deals on two of my CD’s, which, I think, are some of the best albums I’ve made till date: Sacred Love Songs and Spirit Bridges. This summer sale is less than wholesale, even less than distributor prices, so I hope you will take advantage of this to share my music with your friends and family. Third, I am really excited that my book “The Yoga of Sound: Healing and Enlightenment through the Sacred Practice of Mantra made the finalist list in the spirituality category of the Nautilus Award. The winner in this category will be announced on June 02 in NYC. Fourth, we now have an extensive report on our pilgrimage to South India this January titled “in the Aftermath of the Tsunami.” As you can imagine, this was one of our most challenging trips, but one of the deepest experiences we’ve had till date. Finally, I’m off to St. Paul, Minnesota tomorrow to do a concert “Sounds of the Heart” and a retreat titled “Christ in India. From there, I go on to Austin, TX. Here’s wishing you a marvelous summer. Perhaps I will see some of you next month at Wisdom University, or at the Cenacle, near Chicago, Illinois. I want to close with a simple practice that I use when I don’t have much time. Close you eyes and become aware of the space inside your body as though you were checking out the décor in a beautiful temple or cathedral. Now, say your favorite mantra in this space, in the awareness of all the energy in this space, articulating all the syllables clearly on the exhale, which you must release as slowly as possible. As you inhale, after the mantra, do so audibly, smoothly and at a comfortable speed, even fast, and fill this space with the energy of your breath. Finally, exhale quietly and rest in your “guha,” your heart space. This is great way to maximize the effect of just a single mantric recitation when you just have a few moments to center or transform your energy. Enjoy!
