April 12, 2006

Dear friends,

It has been several months since our last newsletter. I
hope this finds you and your loved ones in the best of
health in mind and body. Here are some time bound
announcements:

KRIPALU: Coming weekend, I will be at Kripalu Health and
Yoga Center in Lennox, Massachusetts to present an Easter
Chanting Retreat titled “Chanting in the Cave of the
Heart”. If you know of anyone who might benefit from this
event, do let them know that there is still time to
register. They can visit the events page on my website or
go directly to Kripalu using the following link:
http://www.kripalu.org/program/type2/selfspirit/CCTH61

You can also let them know about a special events that is
offered to the public on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 7:30
pm. titled “One World, One Heart: Discovering Global Unity
Through Kirtan”.

Description: Chant heals! Come prepared to liberate your
voice and dance your prayers to rich musical accompaniment
with Russill Paul and Kripalu musicians. The intention of
this evening's kirtan is moksha, the liberation of the soul
that is the true significance of Easter.

Admission is only $10 for the general public.

EASTER ARTICLE: As we approach Easter, I would like to
offer you an extensive article that I wrote for the
occasion. Enjoy, and do share this article with others!

mailing that features a print newsletter in a few weeks. If
you do not receive this mailing and would like to receive
it, please email us (guha2000@cs.com) and let us have your
current mailing address. Our privacy policy is very strict

have changed your address, please update it for us.

Now for some news on recent travels:

INDIA: This January, we conducted our pilgrimage in South
India and then facilitated an extension of our travels in
northern India, after which Asha and I did some travels on
our own. A report of these travels will be written up and
posted on our website shortly.

BAHAMAS: I returned to the US in early March and hopped on
a plane right away to the Bahamas for a wonderful
conference at the Sivananda Yoga Retreat in Nassau.
Appropriately titled “On the Wings of Ecstasy”, this was an
Interfaith seminar on sacred music and dance that featured
cultures and traditions from around the world. It was quite
extraordinary to flow from Jewish Cantoring to Sufi Dervish
music to Gospel to Hindu devotional music and mantras.

FLORIDA: Following this, I went on to West Palm Beach in
Florida, where I had a marvelous experience making music
with an excellent jazz saxophonist and tabla player
(Richard Brookins) at the Duncan Center. It was truly
profound to chant in the main chapel that houses an awesome
labyrinth etched into the black marble floor. We chanted
“Shri Ram Jai Ram” as participants walked the labyrinth,
our voices and harmonies swirling around in the high
vaulted ceiling.

Saturday evening Kirtan was just spectacular. Local
musicians Michael Moses Tiercsh and Benjamin joined us on
an impressive array of percussion instruments and,
unbelievably, a trumpet. As a special bonus, I volunteered
my knowledge of mantra and meditation to The Orchid Center,
a recovery center for women overcoming addiction. It was
the first time I have ever done something like this and I
was very moved by the responses of these courageous women
and the powerful transformational work being done by the
center, which, by the way, was a major sponsor of my
weekend. Much thanks is due to Laura di Bello, a sound
healer who does regular programs at the Orchid Center and
who is also an superb classical vocalist who sings with
several symphony orchestras: she organized the entire
weekend.

TUSCON: This past weekend, I was in Tucson, Arizona
presenting at a conference on Integrative Medicine along
with Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Larry Dossey and Joan Borysinko.
It was a fantastic event and I hope to share highlights of
what I learned with you in a later newsletter. The
conference was organized by The Inner Connection, a
brilliant team of two women who put a tremendous amount of
heart in the conferences they produce. I really enjoyed my
time and I learned a lot!

Wishing you a marvelous Spring season with will lots of joy
and light.

Om Shanti,

Russill Paul
