Newsletter April 2007 In this issue: India 2007 • Apr 06 to 08 Easter Weekend Retreat at Kripalu Center in Lennox, MA • May 04 to 06: Weekend Workshop and Retreat in Nottingham, NH • May 11-13: Weekend in DelRay Beach, FL Visit: http://www.russillpaul.com/calendar.html for details. Dear friends, It has been several months since my last newsletter so I hope this finds you well and enjoying a marvelous spring. INDIA 2007: Asha and I returned from India last month after what was undoubtedly the best pilgrimage in all our nine years of conducting this experience. We are in the process of preparing a report of the journey, which will first be sent out to our snail mail list, and then later posted on our website. This year we extended our pilgrimage with a five day silent retreat titled “Journey into Silence” followed by a five day mini pilgrimage titled “Off the Beaten Path". This was a phenomenal experience as well and a report along with photographs will be posted on our website sometime in the next month or so. KRIPALU EASTER WEEKEND: Early this month I presented a weekend Easter retreat at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox Massachusetts. We journeyed deeply together into exploring the mystical experience of Jesus, how it resonates with the deep teachings of the Vedas and the significance of this relationship for both yogis as well as Christians. I was assisted by two excellent musicians from the Pennsylvania area who performed with me last year in Baltimore. You can know more about Ajay and Pankaj Sharma through their website www.yogaconsciousness.com. Kirtan at Kripalu was magnificent, with an auditorium overflowing with chanting yogis, and many who danced ecstatically as we chanted. Kripalu drummer, Adrian Bennett and his KDZ percussion partner, Bob, together with Bhavani and several other chanters from the center who joined the performance. Next week I leave for Nottingham New Hampshire, where I will present a weekend at the Nottingham Community Church that is associated with the Universalist Unitarian congregation. Those of you who know this denomination are well aware that they embrace a broad range of philosophical and theological perspectives. The minister, Bob Fowler, is a wonderful man who I got to know through my teaching at Matthew Fox's University of Creation Spirituality in Oakland, California. NOTTINGHAM, NH MAY 04 to 06: The theme of the weekend is "Opening the Mystic Heart”. Some of you may recognize the title of an extraordinary book “The Mystical Heart” by my good friend, the late Brother Wayne Teasdale. He was my best friend for over 18 years before his death in October 2004 and I learned much from him about the mystical life and the mystical path. This weekend will be offer the opportunity for me to share many of the insights that I learned from him with a larger group of people. I will be offering a public concert during the weekend, on Saturday, May 5, accompanied by an excellent musician who lives in town. DELRAY BEACH, FL, 11-13: Following that week, I travel to Delray Beach in Florida, to present another weekend, using a similar title "Awakening the Mystic Heart" to explore the healing power of sound, music and chant. This is an event that I am presenting at the invitation of Laura di Bello, an amazing vocalist who sings professionally with various Philharmonic Orchestras and who is at the same time a sound healer and sound healing consultant. The weekend involves a Friday evening presentation, an all Saturday workshop and a Saturday evening chant concert. Information about these events is up on my website. Please visit the events page for details. Visit: http://www.russillpaul.com/calendar.html It felt surprisingly good to return to Austin, TX from India. Everything was so green when we arrived and it continues to be so with the excellent rainfall this winter. The Bluebonnets are out, and for those of you not aware of this phenomenon, there are whole fields of these gorgeous little flowers adorning the sides of several highways in the vicinity. Looking forward to our next communication, when I will have more news for you, With love in the Spirit, Russill Paul To learn about terms and conditions regarding our products and services, please view our Company Policies Copyright 1998 to 2008, Russill Paul and Guha Soulworks LLC.
